He thinks i dont trust him because im reluctant to get physical?

I ran into a guy I knew a few years back while I was home visting family for christmas in Pennsylvania. I was home a little over a month and we hit it off right away and spent a lot of time together. After I left to finish out school in California, we continued to keep in close contact, talking everyday, and basically holding a long distance relationship, both of us knowing that I would be moving home this spring. Well, I've been home now for a month and we're together, and have a lot of fun with eachother. Only issue is, I'm ually inexpierienced and he is very expierienced. I want to take things slow, which we're doing, but now he thinks that the reason im so reluctant to be physical with him is because I don't trust or feel comfortable around him. He's always stopped when I asked him to and hasn't pressured me but at the same time, won't drop the issue. I don't exactly know how to deal with the situation, I care alot about him but also am wary of becoming just another "notch".
