Um...what the hell is up with XE currency converter?

I'm confused. When I try to find out what the conversion is for CAD vs USD funds I get different results. If I want to know what 2,000.00 CAD is in US dollars I get about a 300 dollar difference. BUT if I put in 7,500 CAD I get a 1000 dollar difference? Is this the way conversion is supposed to be?
