If faith is so fantastic, and God will reward you for it, ...?
I can't see how creationists are undermining faith. Like all religious world views, their outlook clearly reinforces it. Faith, put simply, is belief in the absence of evidence. In everyday life, it is unavoidable - we are frequently compelled to make "leaps of faith". We simply couldn't function without them. The mistake religious people make is to base their world views upon it. There is nothing fantastic or blessed about faith. On the contrary, a dependence upon it is a clear symptom of intellectual immaturity. A much more powerful tool than faith is scientific scepticism. In my experience, it is self-rewarding.
