Where does meiosis occur in plants?

Meiosis is a reduction division of the total number of chromosomes into half in the complete individual. It takes place in the cell. The cells are found in the reproductive organs. The flower of the flowering plant is the reproductive organ in plants. The anthers of the stamen contain the pollen grains with the male parts, while the stigma of the pistil and style make up the female parts with the ova or eggs. Meiosis is thus possibly simultaneous or continous during the processes of pollination and fertilization because we have numerous pollen grains and ova produced and fertilized in plant reproduction.
